Tbilisi. At his own initiative and exercising authority stipulated by the Organic Law of Georgia "On the Public Defender”, the Public Defender started investigation of the case of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia (so called case of the cables). "The Public Defender believes that when deciding upon granting a criminal case a classified status  it is important to assess appropriateness of declaring a specific case material (document) as classified. The Public Defender of Georgia believes that the Main Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia should classify only a part of the so-called cables case  that contains information defined by the Law of Georgia "On State Secret”".
