Tbilisi. "Transparency International – Georgia" and ISFED have observed the rally organized by the "United National Movement" on March 21 at the Freedom Square. "Demonstration was held in a peaceful environment. We have not seen reports of artificial obstacles that would prevent the party from bringing supporters from the regions. Overall, the Ministry of Interior has effectively managed to protect the safety of participants in the course of the rally.
We welcome effective actions of the police aimed at preventing the incidents, which have contributed to holding the rally without hindrances and securing the freedom of expression of the rally participants. Freedom of expression is a vital precondition for the country's democratic development, unwavering protection of which must be one of the key goals of the state", TI's web page in the social network states.
