ShidaKartli. At the initiative of the Civil Society
Institute and the Georgian Representation of Oxfam Great Britain, the
legislative bill on agricultural cooperations was discussed on November 20 in
Gori. The meeting was attended by the members of cooperatives functioning in
ShidaKartli and Mtskheta-Mtianeti and the farmers' associations, independent
farmers and the representatives of local authorities in Gori. The experts of
the EU, UNDP, Oxfam, association "Elkana" and the Civil Society
Institute working on the draft law have presented the developed bill. Active
discussion on the future editing of the legislative bill has followed after the
presentation. The participants have discussed circumstances preventing
agricultural cooperations and the opportunities for remedying them. Expressed
comments and recommendations were registered for taking them into account in
the future.
The
meeting of similar format and content is planned in Ozurgeti in December.
