GYLA Urges the Government to Set up Effective Labor Inspection
Tbilisi. In its statement over the International Workers' Day, the Georgian Young Lawyers' Association has urged the Government to set up an effective labor inspection.
"... We believe a due state control mechanism must exist - the Labor Inspection, in order to protect the rights of the employed and enable them to work in proper conditions. To set up such a mechanism, the Government Resolution N38 was adopted on 5 February 2015, which elaborates the "State Program for Monitoring Labor Conditions". Yet, we find the State Program for Monitoring Labor Conditions, as presented will not be effective and will fail to perform state obligation - to secure safe labor conditions and protect other rights of the employed...", the statement says.
