Tbilisi. The Public Defender of Georgia and its Office are joining the International Day of Peace.
''One of our priorities is to protect the rights of the population in the conflict-affected areas and we believe that protection of their human rights is the best means of conflict prevention and peace-keeping.
The theme of this year’s commemoration is "Partnerships for Peace – Dignity for All” which aims to highlight the importance of all segments of society to work together to strive for peace. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon stressed the importance of engagement of young people in the peace process'', noted the statement.
