The proposal about gender quotas has been supported
Tbilisi. The Parliament has approved the legislative initiative of Non-Governmental Organizations regarding 50% gender quotas.
''According to the proposal, every second person in the party list must be of the opposite sex, which makes in total (only through proportional list) 38 women and is 25% of the entire Parliament composition. The proposal, which has been signed by 9 local Non-Governmental Organizations, is prepared by the ''working group (task Force) of women's political participation'' – is stated on the web-page of the organization.
