Tbilisi. On April 4, the Georgian Young Lawyers' Association made a presentation of the research "Verdicts on femicide cases - 2014".
''The research aimed to analyze adequacy of response of prosecution and judicial authorities to this type of crimes, based on verdicts passed by a court upon femicide cases that took place in Georgia during 2014.
12 instances of conviction on femicide cases, analyzed within the frames of the research, made it clear that a court and prosecution bodies operated with significant defaults while identifying, qualifying the femicide crime, revealing the motives, determining aggravating and mitigating circumstances of the crime and sentencing an offender for it'' – is stated on the web-page of the organization.
