Tbilisi. Celebration of Kurban Bayram holiday started on September 12. The Public Defender of Georgia congratulates Muslim fellow citizens on this great holiday and wishes them peace and happiness.

''The essence of Kurban Bayram is prohibition of sacrificing of a human life. Traditionally, during these days, Muslim families slaughter cattle and distribute them among relatives and neighbors, regardless of their religious affiliation. Accordingly, Kurban Bayram is a celebration of a charity idea and its special importance,'' is noted in the statement.
