Tbilisi. "Transparency International – Georgia” has released on February 5 the 2012 report "The State of the Internet – Who Controls Georgia's Telecommunication Sector?" The 56-page report states that the companies do not provide full information to the customers on the collection, storage and protection of data. "Transparency International – Georgia” calls on the Parliament to initiate the legislative amendments, which, similar to the broadcasters, will obligate the mobile operators and Internet providers subordinated to the National Communications Commission of Georgia to disclose the identity of beneficiary owners. In addition, regulations should be secured, which will increase the transparency of owners of commercial web pages and online information outlets, says the organization’s web page.
