On July 21-22, within the framework of a field working meeting, an Open Government Permanent Parliamentary Council and members of an Advisory Group, operating under the Council, discussed submitted initiatives aiming to elaborate an Action Plan of the Open Parliament of Georgia for 2020-2021 years. The working meeting was conducted within the framework of the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) project – “Consolidating Parliamentary Democracy in Georgia”.
At the working meeting, recommendations and proposals in regard to commitments under the action plan were presented by representatives of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI), USAID/GGI, the National Democratic Institute (NDI), the Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association (GYLA), Transparency International Georgia (TI) and Public Defender of Georgia. Proposed initiatives aim at enhancing openness of activities of the legislative body as well as increasing proactivity and transparency of lawmaking and oversight activities of the Parliament. Most of the recommendations ensure raise of accessibility to information through the website of the Parliament and support increase of a list of proactively publishable and easily editable data.
