Tbilisi. The organization Georgian Democratic
Initiative echoed the developments at the May 1 rally and released the
statement. "In individual cases, the rally participants may have indeed
committed various administrative offences. Yet, at the same time, there is an
impression from the released video material that part of the policemen has
forgotten the purpose of its actions – to free the motor vehicle road – and
thus their actions were mainly focused on detention of the rally participants,”
says the statement. The organization will withdraw information from the
relevant agencies and will subsequently analyze the fact from legal
perspective.
