October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Tbilisi. According to Taso Foundation October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Celebrated annually since 1985, this month is dedicated to breast cancer survivors, to the memory of those who have died as a result, and to support the progress the world has made in defeating breast cancer.
“Increased awareness of breast cancer risk factors emphasizes the importance of regular screening starting at age 40 or at an age appropriate to a woman's personal risk. The symbol of breast cancer awareness is the pink ribbon”.
