GYLA is the Finalist of the International Competition
Tbilisi. Georgian Young Lawyers' Association became a finalist of the Vaclav Havel Human Rights Competition held by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. The price is awarded to a person or organization for distinguished service in human rights’ field. Human rights organizations operating in Europe and other countries are eligible to participate in the competition. On August 26, the competition commission announced three finalists: Ales Beliatski, a human rights defender from Belarus, "Human Rights Protection Network" operating in Czech Republic and the Georgian Young Lawyers' Association. Winner will be announced by the head of the Parliamentary Assembly at 12:30 on September 30.
