Imereti. On August 31, the meeting was held in the office of the
"International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy" with
participation of the public and NGO representatives. The discussion concerned
several issues: informing the public and especially the youth on electoral
topics, so that they are actively involved in the ongoing processes in the
country. In addition, the representative of the Georgian Young Lawyers'
Association spoke about the pre-election monitoring conducted by GYLA.
According to GYLA's representative, the report talks about facts of pressure
and abuse of logistical or human resources. As the representatives of NGO
sector have noted at the meeting, it is crucial to fully inform the local
self-government servants in order to avoid similar irregularities.
