Tbilisi. In 2013 by the
initiative of the Down Syndrom International Organization a tradition of
"countless socks” was introduced, the aim of which is the original expression
of mass solidarity. By buying colored
socks people attract attention of those around them, they disseminate information
and take responsibility.By the initiative of the UNO from 2011 onwards on
March 21 the International Day of Down’s Syndrome is celebrated
worldwide including Georgia. The aim of the event is to give information to the
society.For the celebration of the International Day of
Down’s Syndrome and to support people with Down’s syndrome the NGO "Let’s be
friends” and "The Council of Professionals of Children and Parents with the
Down’s Syndrome” will hold an event called "Friends Do Not Count Chromosomes.
