“Why Isn't a Woman Equal to a Man in Georgia?”
Adjara. The Heinrich Boll Foundation's South
Caucasus Regional Bureau has organized another discussion on March 22 in the
Batumi Civic Engagement Center on "Why Isn't a Woman Equal to a Man in
Georgia?". Speakers from the Adjarian legislative body and the Batumi
State University have focused on the current gender situation in Georgia.Medea Vasadze believes that the women's
rights should be consolidated at legislative level and their role in the
society should increase. Meeting participants have identified problems
encountered by females living in Adjara in respect of the equality issues.
Representatives of the local state agencies, CSOs and media outlets and students
have attended the meeting.
