Kakheti. On July 16 International Non-Governmental
Organization "GLOWS” held a summery meeting within framework of the program
"Watershed Management” in Akhmeta. The program aimed to improve living and
social-economic conditions of local population. The program covered four pilot territories of
Rioni and Alazani-Iori watershed basins.The
program consultant said, "It is difficult to solve all current problems in
regions within one program framework, but we made an important contribution in
local population welfare with implemented projects. Drinking water supply was
improved in some villages, irrigation systems were regulated in some of them,
Alazani bank protection works were carried out in some places.
