On August 30, at the initiative
of the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Association of Families
and partner CSOs have organized events commemorating the International Day of
the Disappeared in Tbilisi, Gori, Kutaisi, Zugdidi and
Batumi.The event took off in Gori at
the Nine Kherkheulidze Brothers Memorial, followed up by church prayers and a
march on the Tsereteli Street heading towards the Giorgi Eristavi Theatre. In
the Theatre yard the participants have released air balloons with the names and
surnames of the disappeared written on them.
