Tbilisi. Transparency International - Georgia has
released a statement in the social network. "On September 1 the Zugdidi
City Hall has posted on its Facebook page about the stray dogs being caught and
transferred to the Samtredia stray dog shelter. The isolation of dogs is
carried out by individual entrepreneur Giorgi Maghlaperidze, whose activities
were described by "Transparency International – Georgia" in a thorough study released in
June. We have found that the shelter arranged by Giorgi Maghlaperidze in
village Baileti of the Ozurgeti District is in a grave condition, while the
caught dogs are being killed with cruel methods". The organization
addresses the municipalities to raise relevant funds and start working on the
arrangement of a shelter for the stray animals.
