Transparency International Georgia about Obtaining Confidential Information by Tax Authorities

Tbilisi. Transparency International Georgia publicized Lika Sajaia’s blog – "The Tax Authorities grant unlimited rights to obtain confidential information form a person”. "On September 1, Georgian government submitted Georgian Parliament amendments which regulate rules of obtaining citizens’ banking confidential information from financial institutions... Government Initiative presents several provisions which, in our opinion, are directly contrary to the Constitution; they violate personal privacy and the fundamental right to fair trial and protection guaranteed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the European Convention and our Constitution.Thebill is at odds, as well as the adversarial principle recognized by the Administrative Procedure Code”, said in the blog-post.
