Samtskhe-Javakheti. The Akhaltsikhe Civic Engagement Center
has hosted the discussion on October 26 on the women’s problems, attended by
the public representatives and students.The
documentary "Women from Georgia” was followed by the discussion about the
socio-economic and psychological state of emigrant women. The meeting
participants have developed recommendations for submitting at the session of
the UN Women’s Fund. The member of the civil society advisers' council of the
UN Women's Fund, expert of the project "Women Unite beyond Conflict"
GulikoBekauri has attended the event as a guest.The
meeting was triggered by the results of the study of the UN Women's
organization, according to which 35% of women in Georgia are the victims of
various types of violence, while 50% are below the poverty line, thus making
them emigrate to various countries in search of jobs.
