The Institute for International Cooperation of the German Adult Education (dvv international)
has operated in Georgia since 2002. The mission of the organization is
to promote and develop the concept of Lifelong Learning and to
contribute to poverty reduction through Youth and Adult Education (For

Since 2006, dvv international Georgia has established 7 Adult and
Community Education Centers across Georgia, in Kakheti, Kvemo-Kartli,
Samtskhe-Javakheti and Samegrelo Zemo-Svaneti Regions of Georgia.
The centres provide population with the wide range of non-formal
educational programmes and activities contributing to enhanced job
opportunities, personal development of beneficiaries and increased
quality of their life. Annually around 7000 persons benefit from
participation in different vocational, language, accountancy, small
business, agricultural courses along with the Civic Education programmes
and numerous public and community events.
In 2013, dvv international will start process of establishment of new
Adult Education Centre in one of the following regions: Adjara, Guria,
Imereti. The centre will be fully functioning in late spring 2014. The
Centre will be established in cooperation with the local
non-governmental organization and local municipality.
Following dvv international policy on Adult Education Centres, after a
certain period of time (depending on performance of the centre) the
centre will be handed over to the local non-governmental organization,
which participated in its establishment. Newly established Centre will
be subject to multi-year financial support from dvv international.
dvv international Georgia is inviting registered non-profit
non-governmental organizations and local municipalities to send their Expression of Interest Letter to participate in the setting up of the new Adult Education Center.
The EI Letter has to describe organisations' experience and present
views on effective ways of establishing AE Centre in their region. We
expect potential partners to have educational background and trustful
relations both with local community and local authorities. The applicant
should also present proven track of successful fundraising initiatives
undertaken by their organization until now.
Deadline for submitting EI Letters is June 28, 2013.
