Aim and Objective of the assignment:
Aim of the assignment is to explore further how Global Gender issues link with UNICEF mandate within Georgia country context and how these factors affect wellbeing of the population, specific vulnerable groups, women and children, youth, etc. For this purpose the consultant should analyze gender priorities of partner organizations, members of UN Gender theme group and donors and identify opportunities for common advocacy.
Consultancy tasks:
** Gender review of the UNICEF priorities within the current country program
** Analysis and identification of opportunities for common advocacy with key partners on gender issues to advance UNICEF's priorities in Georgia (Specializing the justice care system ; Finalizing of the child care reform; Advancing Pre-school and General Education; Decreasing Child Mortality; Introducing Child benefits for every child)
Required qualifications:
** University Degree in Social Sciences, Gender, Public Policy, Human Rights
** At least five years of experience with Gender analysis
** Excellent analytical and writing skills
** Excellent knowledge of English Language
Deliverables:
** Recommendations on improvement of Gender mainstreaming within UNICEF country program (2 pager)
** Recommendations on joint advocacy with partners on gender issues to further advance UNICEF's objectives in Georgia (5-10 pages)
** Supervision: Consultant will work under the direct supervision of Social Policy Specialist.
Duration of contract and remuneration:
The contract will be commence upon identification and requirement of the Consultant and will last for 15 days; Fees to be negotiated according to experience and qualifications of successful candidate.
