Management Systems International, implementing the USAID Good Governance in Georgia Program for the anticipated term of 2011-2014, is seeking applications from candidates for one position to perform the Assistant functions for the Good Governance in Georgia Program under its local government component.
Job title: Assistant/Intern - Local Government Component
Internship: Full time
Start date: Immediate
Location: Tbilisi
Responsibilities:
Assistance in development and implementation of the Good Governance in Georgia program work related to local government:
a. Work with regional representatives and collect monitoring information regularly;
b. Prepare weekly/monthly monitoring reports including quantitative analysis of collected materials;
c. Create and maintain databases of contractor and grantee deliverables;
d. Participate and assist Deputy Head of Component 2 or Chief of Party in daily activities and work related to Component 2.
e. Assist in management of Component 2 related to promoting more responsive, professional and engaged local governments;
f. Assist in planning travel and data collection in partner municipalities across the country;
g. Work with other G3 staff in organizing workshops and other training activities; and
h. Provide support in other organizational and work-related matters as required.
Qualifications:
a. Bachelor's Degree in social science or related discipline;
b. Experience on working on local government issues;
c. Good knowledge of local and regional issues and developments;
d. Understanding political, social, cultural environment;
e. Native Georgian, Fluent English;
f. Excellent writing and communications skills;
g. Good presentation skills;
h. Computer literacy;
i. Attentive to details;
j. Open minded, creative.
Other:
** Interns will be expected to work a fixed schedule of 20-35 hours/week.
** As well, applicants should be willing to work outside normal office hours and on weekends as required.
