The USAID Good Governance in Georgia (G3) Program is tasked to improve transparency, accountability and institutional efficiency at all levels of government in providing better services to citizens, as well as improving communication channels between GoG institutions, stakeholders, civil society and citizens. Under the Local Government Component of G3, the program promotes more responsive and engaged local governance, developing local government capacity for informed decision-making in response to community needs. The activities include small grants to local media outlets in partner cities and municipalities to improve the quality and frequency of reporting on issues in local self-government, including support for live call-in shows. To complement this grant funding, G3 will also provide training to media professionals on the constitutional, legal and administrative framework for local self-government in Georgia.
Objectives:
G3 will contract a Trainer specialized in the constitutional, legal and administrative framework for local self-government in Georgia to design, conduct and evaluate a short training course aimed at local media professionals from G3's ten partner municipalities (Zugdidi, Poti, Batumi, Ozurgeti, Akhaltsikhe, Gori, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Telavi, and Marneuli).
