World Vision opened its office in Tbilisi in 1994 in response to the country's dire need for economic assistance and intervention in the lives of Georgia's poor and vulnerable. Currently WVG covers Tbilisi as well as three regions Kakheti, Imereti, Samtske Javakheti through ADPs and Shida Kartli through an external donor project. All of World Vision Georgia's projects are built around two core competencies: children and youth, and poverty reduction. They build local capacity, contribute to the development of local and national policies, and are community-based and sustainable. World Vision believes the best way to improve children's lives is through child-focused development. WVG works with communities and children through a range of programmes and projects that promote change and improve their well-being.
