Tbilisi. International conference: "Notion of Democracy: Foreign, Economic and Security Policy Choice in the Region" has taken off today. The Economic Policy Research Center has organized the conference for the second time, with participation of high quality experts from the Stanford University. The Conference is organized with support of the "Open Society - Georgia" Foundation, US Embassy, NATO Public Diplomacy Division, and Omidyar Network.
The Director of the Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law of the Stanford University, Larry Diamond, who discusses the challenges of democratization globally and in the region, as well as the Professor Emeritus of the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies of the same university, Stephen Krasner are among the key speakers of the Conference.
Tomorrow, on March 27, Larry Diamond and Stephen Krasner will deliver a lecture in the Ilia University on: "Democracy and state building in the Post-Soviet area: where we stand after 25 years".
