CSO Appeal to the National Communications Commission
Tbilisi. All eleven CSO members of the Coalition for Media Advocacy have addressed the Chairman of the National Communications Commission, so that the "regulatory authority subordinated to him expresses interest in MagtiSat's advertising, which is "improper and misleading the audience", which is run on the company's official Facebook page in textual as well as in a video format", media.ge says.
Key message of the advertising: "Since June 17, Georgian will switch to digital broadcasting and the analog broadcasting will be switched off, which means that you will no longer be able to watch Georgian TV channels without a special digital decoder".
In the appeal disseminated on April 14, CSOs explain that "in case a TV receiver with relevant technical parameters is available, receiving a digital signal is possible also without a special decoder. MagtiSat's advertising may mislead the audience". For the full text...
