Tbilisi. ''Transparency International Georgia'' publishes the results of public opinion survey. The survey focuses on the issue of collecting money at public schools.
"14% of those enquired, whose family member studies at public school, state that they have paid for certain purchases or repairs at school during recent 12 months; while according to 19%, they have collected money to buy a present for a teacher. However, the majority of respondents note that such facts happen rarely. Based on survey results, in Georgia it is still quite common to hire a private tutor for students. More than a quarter of public school students use the services of a private tutor. In some cases these tutors are the same teachers who educate them at public schools” – is stated in the survey.
