''Increase of pensions is the continuation of the practice of using budgetary resources prior to elections''
Tbilisi. International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED) publishes the statement.
"It must be noted that a decent remuneration of a work of teachers, provision of adequate pension to elderly and social assistance to socially vulnerable is one of the important challenges of the State of Georgia. Due to sensitiveness of this issue and with the approaching election year, increase of pensions and wages in the budget, as well as initiation of different social projects should be preceded with discussions and decisions, strengthened with realistic economic estimates, in order to avoid suspicions as though mentioned initiatives serve only to attract voters and to fit pre-election tasks of ruling party” – is noted in the statement of the organization.
