Samtskhe-Javakheti. On
January22, the organization "Akhaltsikhe Youth Center" has summarized
in the assembly hall of the Akhaltsikhe Municipality the work carried out over
six months as part of the "Civic Education and Teacher Training
Program".The schoolchildren and teachers of
non-Georgian and Georgian public schools of the region participating in the
Program, and representatives of education resource centers, NGOs and local
media have attended the meeting. As part of the Program, the organization has
activated civic clubs in 66 public schools region-wide. Eight clubs have
presented reports on their activities at the meeting.According to the Grants Manager of the Civic Education and Teacher Training
Program of PH International Georgia Tamar Pruidze, in last six months the civic
clubs have carried out numerous activities and cooperated with the local
authorities; they participated in the charity events planned to assist the
socially unprotected families, were involved in various trainings, etc. The
Civic Education and Teacher Training Program was launched in June 2004 and will
be completed in June 2014.
