Tbilisi. On January 23, "Transparency
International –
Georgia" held a joint press-conference in the Ministry of Finances
together with the Minister of Finances and presented the 2012 results of
"Open Budget Index" for Georgia. In accordance with the global report
released by the "International Budget Partnership", which is
published biannually, Georgia scored 55 points out of 100. This indicator is
higher than the average 43 points generated by the examined 100 countries,
which means that the Government of Georgia informs its citizens about the
country's state budget and financial activities to a certain degree only. On
its hand, this makes it difficult for the citizens to follow the process of
spending of the state funds.
