Tbilisi.Interested persons have an opportunity to get familiar with the book
of Paul Hirst and Grahame Thompson "Globalization in Question" in the
Regional Development and Local Self-Government Resource Center of the Caucasian
Institute for Peace, Democracy and Development.
The authors note that the notion of globalization
is a quite broadly used term. Political and academic discourse emphasizes
recently developing rapid economic globalization, which is an essentially new
stage of development of internationalized capitalism. Yet, one question arises:
does this reflect the reality? The book expresses skepticism towards the global
economic processes and underscores the significance of national and
international economies.
