Open Letter Concerning the Amendment to Procedure for Staffing the SEC
Tbilisi. NGO "New Generation – New Initiative” has released an
open letter concerning the changes to the procedure for staffing the Supreme
Election Commission. According to the organization, the Law adopted by the
Supreme Council of the Adjara Autonomous Republic on January 29 substantially
changes the procedure for staffing the Supreme Election Commission and term of
office. "The Law was adopted hastily, without involvement of the election
administration and other interested parties including the authoritative local
and international observer organizations”, - says the letter.
