Monitoring Report of the High Council of Justice #5

Tbilisi. The High Council of Justice publishes its Monitoring Report #5.
''During the reporting period there were several shortcomings identified in the activity of the Council - the process of selection/appointment of judges was not transparent, which gave basis to doubts in terms of objectiveness and neutrality of decisions taken in regard to these issues; There is still not a pluralist environment in the Council; A judicial accountability system is still ineffective and contains threats to independence of a judge'' – is stated in the report.
