Coalition for Equality responds to an investigation on a femicide case
Tbilisi. ''Coalition for Equality'' responds to a case of femicide, committed with extraordinary cruelty, in which regard justice has been served with significant shortcomings.
On January 15, 2017, in the Shalauri village of the Telavi district, Givi Guliashvili poured gasoline on his wife - Olga Shishkina and set her on fire. The woman spent 12 days in a reanimation unit and then died.
The Coalition considers that prosecution and judicial authorities should fundamentally change their approach towards gender based crimes to ensure effective prevention, investigation and punishment.
