Tourism Festival and multi-stakeholder dialogue on the prospects of tourism development will be held in Guria
Guria. On July 23, 2017 a Tourism Festival will take place in three municipalities of the Guria Region (Lanchkhuti, Chokhatauri and Ozurgeti). After the Festival on July 24, 25 and 26 will be held a multi-stakeholder dialogue on the prospects of tourism development in Guria.
During the Festival, the public will get familiar with the tourist potential in the region. Various handmade items produced in Guria and folk crafts will be exhibited. Local culinary corners will be arranged and concerts will be organized.
On July 23, a schedule of The Tourism Festival in Guria: Lanchkhuti, from 12:00 in the Central Park adjacent territory; Chokhatauri, from 16:00 in Goraberezhauli Dendrological Park; Ozurgeti, from 19:00 in Merab Kostava Park adjacent territory.
After the Festival 24, 25 and 26 the central and local authority representatives, experts, citizens and stakeholders engaged in tourism will hold a multi-stakeholder dialogue on the prospect of tourism development in Guria.
the participatory methodology – CHARRETTE Studio, developed at the National Charrette Institute (NCI). Michigan State University, will be applied. Following the panel and thematic group sessions, attenders will jointly define the priorities on which the tourism strategy of Guria will be built on.
Multi-stakeholder discussion will be held in Ozurgeti, in the "Horizonti” College building (8 Rustaveli Str.), on 24, 25 and 26, 2017.
The event is conducted within the framework of the 3-year project "Participatory CHARRETTE for the Tourism Development Strategy of Guria”, implemented by mutual cooperation of the Ozurgeti, Lanchkhuti and Chokhatauri Municipalities, Ozurgeti City Hall, civil society organizations the Young Scientists’ Club of Ozurgeti and the Civil Society Institute, with the EU financial support.
