Tbilisi. With the support of the "Open Society - Georgia" Foundation, the Georgian Young Lawyers' Association and the Levan Mikeladze Foundation have published the report concerning the work of the National Communications Commissions of Georgia in 2012. "The report has demonstrated that legislation fails to adequately secure the staffing mechanism of the Commission, which would protect the regulatory body from the influence of political forces, as well as the effective control of the civil sector and its involvement in the Commission's activities. Legislator does not clearly define the extent of the Commission's authority to control the observance of the requirements of the Law of Georgia on Copyright and Neighboring Rights by the transit broadcasters", says the report.
