Tbilisi. Organizations, working on human rights, respond to the initiative of the government regarding abolition of the State Agency for Religious Issues and integration of its functions into those of the Office of the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality.
''We, the undersigning organizations consider that this decision echoes the criticism, accumulated against the State Agency for Religious Issues, to some extent, however, we call on the government to not treat the current process as just a formal structural change and substantially revise its policy in the field of protection of freedom of religion'' – is noted in the statement.
