New resolution of the UN: Demand to states to abolition orphanages
On December 18, 2019, in New York, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution, which obliges all member states to close orphanages immediately.
According to the resolution, states should ensure return of children to biological families, however, if it is impossible, children should only be provided with services close to the family environment.
