Ensuring public engagement in police activities

Tbilisi. The Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) publishes material: Ensuring public engagement in police activities.

The organization considers that “for a democratic country it is important to ensure public engagement in the process of enhancement of police supervision and, based on a good practice, supports establishment of public engagement councils in Georgia as an independent external mechanism. Above councils will be allowed to review complaints, submitted against the police, along with other authorities”.
