Food waste is one of the biggest contributors to climate change

Tbilisi. According to the information of the CENN, in Georgia, 40% of the waste on landfills is organic waste, large portion of which is food products. Food waste that decomposes in landfills releases carbon dioxide and methane, the latter being a greenhouse gas that is at least 28 times more potent than carbon dioxide.
