Statistics of socially vulnerable people and elections 2019-2021

Tbilisi. According to the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI), the number of people receiving subsistence allowance in Georgia has increased by 44.12% since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Elections affect determining the number of socially vulnerable people in a certain way for years. For example, in the run up to the 2021 local elections, in the month of June alone, the number of people receiving subsistence allowance increased by about 70 thousands”.
