Tbilisi. Media Advocacy Coalition negatively appraises a decision of the Parliament of Georgia to review the legislative package restricting gambling games and their advertisements in an expedited manner.

“Review of the bill in an expedited manner and its adoption via two hearings in one day precludes full-fledged parliamentary discussions, submission of opinions by interested parties and refinement of the draft. These procedures are fundamentally important for initiatives that can entail significant financial implications for both the state budget and the media sector”.
