Conference – ''Financial Sustainability of CSOs''
Tbilisi. On May 15, the
conference organized by the Civil Society Institute was launched on the
"Financial sustainability of the civil society organizations". Up to
60 representatives of the capital-based and regional NGOs participate in the
conference. Georgian and foreign experts discuss the following issues:
international standards of financial sustainability of CSOs and the best
practices; legal regulation of financial sustainability of CSOs in Georgia;
fund raising and welfare activities; economic activities and social
entrepreneurship; public financing - social contracts and the state grants;
regulation of volunteering activities in Georgia.The conference aims to assist the Georgian CSOs in
identifying and using the legislative mechanisms, through which they will be
able to maintain financial sustainability.The two-day conference will be closed on May 16 and it is
implemented with the support of the East-West Management Institute, as part of
the "Public Policy, Advocacy and Civil Society Development in Georgia"
Program funded by the US Agency for International Development.
