Tbilisi. The signatory organizations respond to the news story aired by TV Pirveli on June 12.
The story describes the alleged involvement of the State Security Service (SSS) employees in the planning and execution of the violent events of July 5.
“The mass violence on July 5, 2021, was considered to be an exceptional case of police inactivity and the demonstrative state’s passivity in protecting journalists and activists. However, the information released on June 12 prompts an even more dangerous and disturbing assumption that it may be the SSS that stands behind the planning and management of that mass violence”.
