Tbilisi.The Institute for the Development of Freedom of Information has released the "Abortion Statistics in Georgia – 2004-2012". The organization has obtained the information from the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs. "Obtained documents make it clear that over nine years (2004-2012) the facts of termination of pregnancy in Georgia have reached an alarming number - 221 082. Further, it is notable that the dynamics of abortions is on the rise annually and compared to the 2004 data, the preliminary data of 2012 are increased by 130%," says the organization's web page.
