Imereti. On July 12, the International Foundation for
Electoral Systems and the CEC have organized the conference in Kutaisi. Apart
from the CEC Chairman Zurab Kharatishvili, the chairmen of the Imereti District
Election Commissions, editors of media outlets, and the producers and
publishers have participated in the conference. The CEC informed the
journalists about already implemented and planned events in wake of the 2012 parliamentary elections. In addition, the audience
was informed about the CEC's long-term action plan for 2012-2014. The CEC
intends to hold similar meetings in the near future with the media
representatives of Adjara, Guria, and Samegrelo.
