Tbilisi. On December 15, in Tbilisi Marriott Hotel, a group of UN agencies, in partnership with the Georgian government and public organizations, held the first national conference on gender equality issues.
Conference participants discussed issues such as increasing women's participation in politics, violence against female politicians, ways to eliminate femicide, prevention of sexual violence in peacetime and war, education as a way to overcome gender discrimination, and reforming paid parenthood.
