Freedom House Releases Freedom of the Press 2013 which ranks Georgia as Partly Free country. According to the survey press freedom score stands at 49 compared with the last year’s 52."The constitution protects press freedom, and Georgia has some of the most progressive media legislation in its region. Government influence over private media, particularly broadcast outlets, persisted during 2012 in the run-up to October parliamentary elections,” reads the report.
